We're Donating to the Santiam Wildfire Restoration Fund with Your Help

The Spring of 2022 has brought more wet weather to Oregon than typical years, especially in the Willamette Valley, including a surprise snow in April. Even as June began, rainfall records were falling. Sometimes on a daily basis. And on June 11, the Columbia River reached its highest level in two years.

The rain is a welcome relief to many, but we can’t deny that wildfire season is here. In Oregon, the fire season usually begins in early July and ends in late September as we enter Fall.

In 2020, the Labor Day fires in Oregon affected nearly half of the Santiam State Forest east of Salem, including recreation sites, trails and valuable forests.

The Oregon Department of Forestry aims to plant about 7 million tree seedlings to re-start the forest. To help with this effort, Beaver State Market will donate $1 for each item sold in June through September 30 to the State Forests Wildfire Restoration Fund. Your purchase will help fund tree planting, reconstruction of popular recreation sites, and support education programs to help Oregonians learn more about wildfire and what it means to our forests and our lives in the future.

Thank you for your support!
